Sherry Humphreys - Director of Community Enhancement

Sherry and her husband Wayne are long time residents of Louisa County and live on a farm south of Columbus City.

Sherry has been active in many county and community organizations. She currently serves on Louisa County Planning and Zoning Commission, Board of Adjustment, and the County Conservation Board. Recently retired from the Iowa Department of Revenue, she looks forward to serving as Director of Community Enhancement for Louisa Development Group and promoting the economic growth of the county.

Dennis Fraise - Director of Business Services

Dennis Fraise is a lifelong resident of Southeast Iowa; he grew up in rural Lee County.  Upon graduation from Fort Madison High School he completed a degree in photography and accepted a position with Sheaffer Pen Company in Fort Madison as a commercial photographer.  In 1985 he opened his own business, Images and More in Burlington, IA.

Starting as a single person operation Images and more grew and branched out into marketing and consulting services as well as photography.  Dennis has taken more than half a million professional photos and generated more than three million dollars in sales in southeast Iowa.  Images and More grew to have eight employees and was named small business of the year in 2006 by the Burlington chamber of commerce.

Dennis is a national award winner for both photography and marketing.  He was awarded the title Master of Photography for photographic excellence by the Professional Photographers of America.  He also holds the title Craftsman Photographer awarded for teaching others. Dennis has presented programs on photography and marketing throughout the United States.  He has been named one of Iowa’s top ten photographers five times and his work was selected by Kodak for display at Epcot.

His true passion lies in helping others develop creative marketing and business concepts to help their organizations succeed.  Dennis has extensive experience working with small businesses, industrial clients, government entities and non profits.  He has lead strategic planning sessions for numerous associations and helped them develop comprehensive marketing, communication and business plans.

Most recently he served as communications Director for the Alzheimer’s Association, Greater Iowa Chapter for fifty eight counties in Iowa.  He also works as an independent consultant for non profits and businesses across Iowa.  In addition to his work Dennis has also served on numerous boards including the Burlington Chamber of Commerce and the Professional Photographers of Iowa.  He was President of the state association in 2009. 

Dennis is very excited to help assist the Louisa Development Group develop a plan for success and is ready to help take the association to new heights.  Louisa County is a beautiful place, with great people and wonderful natural assets.  Our goal in the next year is to connect the divergent dots that make up Louisa County into a cohesive voice that will help propel Louisa County and its people to new levels of success and prosperity.

Dennis lives in Burlington with his wife of thirty two years, Sharon.  They have one daughter Laura in Chicago and will soon add a son in law James after their May 14th, 2011 wedding.  In his spare time Dennis is an avid reader and movie fan.  He’s been on RAGBRAI four times; admittedly it was mostly for the pie.  He looks forward to meeting all the great people of Louisa County.  His motto is “What would we do if we knew we couldn’t fail?” and “Lets Go!”
