The Louisa County Board of Supervisors has appointed Louisa Development Group as the official tourism contact for the county. It is a responsibility we take to heart.

Although we are not an official Convention & Visitors Bureau, we function just the same. From planning events, designing marketing materials, placing ads and detailing itineraries, LDG -- in collaboration with the conservation office and historical society -- is the driving force behind tourism efforts.

From our rich history to our breathtaking views, we have a lot to offer the traveler seeking something other than casinos or adventure parks. Visit our National Wildlife Refuge, paddle one of Iowa's first canoe trails, take a walk down history lane or enjoy our historic Swinging Bridge. We are the place to be...naturally.

Louisa County belongs to the Eastern Iowa Tourism Association www.easterniowatourism.org and has now been participating in the state's cooperative advertising program for two years! Grants from the Community Foundation of Louisa County and other organizations help fund ads and promotions. We've even got a new brochure to entice you to come and see what we have to offer.
